Located in a wing of the Sisters of St. Joseph Residence in Clarence, the St. Joseph Center for Spirituality promotes the Congregation’s mission of reconciliation and of unity with God, others, self, and all creation.
The staff of Sisters, Associates, and Pre-Associates offer spiritually enriching programs at the Center as well as in Buffalo parishes. The staff also ministers to individuals through spiritual direction and retreats, and provides formation for those called to the ministry of Spiritual Direction.
Spiritual direction offers a vital way of deepening one’s relationship with God, through one-on-one reflection, the spiritual director assists the directee to recognize and integrate God’s presence in all aspects of life and prayer experiences. A member of our staff meets with interested individuals and matches them with a director appropriate for their concerns.
This year the Center has offered a series on Pathways to Prayer in several parishes. Different speakers addressed such topics as Praying with Poetry, Music, Scripture, Icons and Imagination; Biblical Storytelling as Prayer; and Spirituality in Everyday Life. If you would like any of these programs offered in your parish, please call the Center.
